The Applied Security Task Force
The ASTF technologists come from seven distributed information technology units that represent the broad campus community. There are also three advisors to the Task Force.
Members:
Ross Bollens, UCLA IT Security Director
Ken Davis, Network Manager - External Affairs
Experience: Applications development, network security, infrastructure, and network operations functions. Developing policy and administering security equipment to enforce policy.
Andre Dieudonne, Network Administrator and Security Coordinator - Anderson School of Management Computing and Information Services
Experience: Campus-wide security issues, protocols for connecting to the UCLA network/local environment, anti-virus, anti-spam, and mail-filtering applications. Network management experience working extensively with Cisco infrastructure equipment, Windows and Netware servers. Implementing and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, perimeter protection through router ACLs, and network-based Intrusion Detection Systems.
Cliff Maraschino, Graduate School of Education & Information Studies
Experience: Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam Solutions and the implementation, configuration and support of firewalls. Certified in: CISSP, CCNP, MCSE, CCA (Citrix), and A+.
Victor Mendez, IT Manager - School of Public Policy and Social Research
Experience: Working with vendors of firewall, anti-spam and anti-virus solutions. Working with SonicWall and Fortinet firewalls which protect the mission critical servers of the School of Public Affairs instructional program.
Aaron Seligman, Director of Computing Services - UCLA California Center for Population Research
Experience: Providing secure computing environment for a large center that manipulates sensitive data. Building secure data enclaves. Meeting regulations such as HIPAA and the Information Practices Act.
Steve Woods, Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Experience: Steve has been a programmer since 1972. He has been the lead system programmer and network manager for SEASnet since 1985. His security specalities are Intrusion detection and remediation.
